Jeff, do we have any docs (or comment blocks) detailing how to write plugins? I haven't kept up on the CVS messages as of late. ~swain Saqib Ali wrote: > Hi, > I would like to write a LDAP lookup module for PHPWiki. I would recommend php-gallery then, where everybody can add comments below the thumbs or full-sizes images, and where you have a good control over user/groups permissions. esp. uploading and browsing through from digital cam fotos is much easier. I have tons of them in my galleries. -- Reini Urban http://xarch.tu-graz.ac.at/home/rurban/ http://tv.mur.at/ (kulturelles) |

I've set up a wiki for a local school with photo uploading, as two of the teachers are on a trip to Australia and wanted to update the site daily from their digital camera without hassle. Somewhere in > transform.php? In LinkBracketLink(), I think (lib/stdlib.php). Since, it seems this feature is really only useful for admin(s), and that a finite set of images will be used for the image links, maybe the best way to go is to use the new image-button features in Theme.php. Eg: something like [ button:Top | HomePage ] Then, if you have a Top.png in the current themes buttons directory, that will be used. (If Top.png can't be found, then link will contain the text "Top", but CSS will be used to make it look like a button, if possible.) (This is how the action buttons (PageHistory, EditPage, etc... are currently produced.) (See Theme::makeButton().) |

I'm not sure if this is a bug or a "feature" of the cvs version. Shouldn't a named link to an internal page (eg [Alias|SandBox] ) be rendered in the same way as an unnamed link to an internal page (eg SandBox) ? At the moment, it is rendered in the same way as a named link to an external page (eg [Alias|http://blah.com]) A similar thing happens with unknown pages, but in that case the rendering is almost illegible (eg [Alias|UnknownWikiPage] ) I would have thought that all internal pages (named or unnamed) should be rendered in the same way, so that people know that they are internal. The same should happen for all unknown internal links. Lawrence Akka |

Hi Reini, Thanks for your screen snapshot. I will be doing more cleanup of the new css files so they will work properly with Netscape 4.7 sometime this week. I accidentally deleted part of my hard drive yesterday, so for the next few days I will be concentrating on undeleting about 1Gb of my files (which weren't backed up recently) instead of PhpWiki. :-( :-( :-( Carsten On Tuesday, February 12, 2002, at 03:57 pm, Reini Urban wrote: > Carsten Klapp schrieb: >> Again thanks for your time. Hi again, There are a few more (minor) issues I noticed: A couple pages at the bottom say "DocumentationPhpWiki" and the others "DocumentationDePhpWiki". Probably these should all be changed to "DocumentationDePhpWiki" to be identical. (Or which one do you prefer?) I noticed you used the formal variations. This is okay, however I just thought you should know the other translations use the informal verbs--well at least I know for certain the german translation does. (I'm suprised to see how many german web pages these days use informal terms, but they are usually personal home pages or discussion forums, not for business web pages. I guess this is a sign that times are changing?) Of course a french PhpWiki should probably reflect the general common usage of french on the web, if you feel it is more appropriate to use the formal, then there is certainly no reason to change it. Again thanks for your time. The new pages should be available for testing on the alpha server in a few minutes or so. http://phpwiki.sourceforge.net/ alpha/fr Carsten |

(Also, please add yourself to the page!) > How do I send back the modified/new files ? I (probably Carsten, too) would be happy to accept your changes and check them into the CVS repository. You can get your changes to use either by e-mailing them directly to one of us, or by putting them somewhere where we can get them (via HTTP or FTP). (You could use the SourceForge "patch tracker" for this: http://sf.net/tracker/?atid=306121&group_id=6121&func=browse .) |

If you want to try hacking it in yourself, here's some vague hints as to where to start (PhpWiki 1.3 CVS): As has been noted, PhpWiki currently has no support at all for registering or keeping track of users, so you'll have to figure out a way to do that... To hook into PhpWiki's login/authentication mechanism: All user logins/signins go through WikiUser::_pwcheck(). This method checks the provided username and password. Currently it returns one of three values: WIKIAUTH_ADMIN: if the username and password are those of the administrator. WIKIAUTH_BOGO: if bogo-login's are allowed, and the username is of a suitable format. false: Bad username or password. Login fails. You want to modifiy this method so that it can also return: WIKIAUTH_USER: username and password match that of a valid registered user. If you do this, it should "just work" (hah). But I haven't really tried it, so it may well not. If you have trouble with that part, let me know, and I'd be happy to help debug. |
