Hi All, using PHPWiki 1.3.3 I can't remove pages. I get the message "Someone has edited the page! Since you started the deletion process, someone has saved a new version of HomePage. Please check to make sure you still want to permanently remove the page from the database." What goes wrong / what can I do? TIA, Oliver --=20 Oliver Betz, Muenchen |

Hello all, After a long personal hiatus I'm visiting PhpWiki again. I don't have as much time these days to devote to PhpWiki but I'll still be "checking in" once in a while. Since I last looked so much great new stuff has been added to explore, I don't know where to begin!!! Thanks :) Carsten |

Hi all. Sorry if this is implemented in 1.3.3 allready, but I've been running 1.2 for what seems to be all my life. I've just updated to 1.3.3 and haven't quite gotten used to it after I got it working (PHP was giving me a hassle :-) ) I'm wondering if there is any way of adding a page on the Wiki that includes links to all pages that have been linked to but not created? You see, what I've done is that I've got a frame on the right hand side of the Wiki that shows 25 random pictures (a new every 30 seconds). Each page links to a page on the Wiki and includes a variety of links that become interconnected after one starts browsing through the page. Because of this, I have no central place to work from and often find a bunch of unwritten links on a page that I haven't seen for some time. Having a central place that includes a list of those pages, preferably with a field stating how many pages now link to this unwritten page, would be VERY helpful, and I'm sure that many other Wiki administrators would appreciate a feature such as this one. That's about all. :-) Thanks! Breki. www.qliphoth.net |

Hello, I am Godwin Emeifile, Bank Manager of Zeinth Bank of Nigeria, Lagos Branch. I have urgent and very confidential proposition for you. On June 6th, 1997, an American Oil, Corporation/Contractor with the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Robert Noel made a numbered time (Fixed) Deposit for twelve calender month, value at US $23,250.00 (Twenty-three Million, Two hundred and fifty Thousand US Dollars only) in my branch. Upon maturity, I sent a routine notification to his forwarding address but got no apply. After a month, we sent a reminder and finally we discovered from his contract employers, the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation that Mr. Robert Noel died from an automobile crash. On further investigation, I found out that he died without making a WILL, and all attempt to trace his next of kin was fruitless. ]I therefore made further investigation and discovered that Mr. Robert Noel did not declare any kin or regulations in all his official documents, including his Bank Deposit paper work in my bank. This sum of US $23,250,000.00 Only is still sitting in my Bank and the interest is being rolled over the principal sum at the end of each year. No one will ever come forward to claim it. According to Nigeria Law, at the expiration of 5 (five) years, the money will revert to the ownership of the Nigeria Government if nobody applies to claim the fund. Consequently, my proposal is that I will like you as a Foreigner to stand in as the next of kin to Mr. Robert Noel so that the fruits of this old mans labour will not get into the hands of some corrupt government officials. This is simple, I will like you to provide immediately your full names and address so that the Attorney will prepare the necessary documents and affidavits, which will put you in place as the next of kin. We shall employ the Service of two attorney for drafting and notarization of the will and to obtain the necessary documents and letter of probate / administration in your favour for the transfer for the .A Bank Account in any part of world which you will provide will then facilitate the transfer of this money to you as the beneficiary/next of kin. the money will be paid into your account for us to share in the ratio of 60%for me and 40%for you There is no risk at all as all the paperwork for this transaction will be done by the attorney and my position as the Branch Manager guarantees the successful execution of this transaction. If you are interested, please reply immediately via the private address below. upon your respond, i shall then provide you with more details and relevant documents that will help you understand the transaction. please observe utmost confidentially, and be rest assured that this transaction would be most profitable for both of us because i shall require your assistance to invest my share in your country. Awaiting your urgent reply via my private email address: thanks and regards. Godwin Emeifile. |

Going a little beyond that, I would like the ability to have the uploaded files assigned to the page they were uploaded to - something like attaching a file to a page and having the page list all the files that are attached to it. On a phpwiki that I am working on, we need the ability to assign ZIP/PDF files to the page which get updated every week or so (upload new copy, delete old copy, update wiki with new information)... Hello All, there are some files with non-ascii-characters converted to hex codes, especially some buttons in the Spanish and German MacOSX theme. I think that's not a good idea since one can't upload them via FTP. The PGSRC are also affected, but IMHO it's a good idea to ZIP this stuff, anyhow. Oliver |

Hello all, first of all many thanks to all people involved in PhpWiki development! I like the idea to _simply_ collect information at home and in my office, and maybe it's useful for our school, too. Trying PhpWiki 1.3.3 I found that paths are not allowed after the URL to the PHP script. It results in "Internal Server Error" and my ISP had no solution ("maybe a bug in PHP in CGI mode"). I guess that this could be a configuration problem, but I have no clue about this. Any hint what to tell him? But with parameters separated by "?" no search function is available. I have been reading about the InternetExplorerGetMethodBug, but it doesn't work in Opera 6 nor Mozilla 1.1. Is this confirmed or is there any chance I can resolve the problem by setting some parameters? Or do I need a mod_rewrite rule? I had a short look at this but gave up after a while. What should be the right parameter for the search command? TIA, Oliver |

Correct this solution will be harder to impliment. Not only does it require the backend support for each DB, but there is also the need for administrative plugins (plugins that check permissions) to add people to groups and to create groups. > > There are speed issues with #2, but I don't think they're as bad > as Joby says. Each page belongs to only one group, so > for a given access we only have to check for membership in a single > group --- not all groups... You're correct Jeff. For each page that is a-r, g+r, and not owned by the viewer only one group page would need to be accessed (unless we allow groups to belong to groups, **shudder**). So most pages will not require the rendering of a group page. The 1+N problem comes into fruition in situations where we want to get all of the groups to which the user belongs. The example Reini put forward was if we want to limit searches to only pages the user can view. After some thought there is no reason we can't abstract this and do both (with a config option and WikiGroup::getGroup) with a group object that would be called within WikiRequest or WikiUser. Since the #2 is going to be FAR easier to impliment and #1 requires some other work done, #2 will be the proto-type. I'll have a mock up in the near future. jbw |

Hi, I like the idea about putting small icons in front of links to make it easy to identify the type, but there's one thing that has bothered me about this from the start: the icon is often separated from the link, especially when the link is a long raw URL. The following patch should take care of that. It inserts a span tag around the icon and the first word in the link and uses the white-space attribute to make the two stick together. The 'style' => 'white-space: nowrap' should probably be moved into the stylesheet, but this demonstrates the idea: Index: stdlib.php =================================================================== RCS file: /cvsroot/phpwiki/phpwiki/lib/stdlib.php,v retrieving revision 1.127 diff -u -3 -r1.127 stdlib.php --- stdlib.php 24 Sep 2002 01:12:28 -0000 1.127 +++ stdlib.php 5 Oct 2002 23:19:26 -0000 @@ -179,11 +179,27 @@ else { if (!$linktext) $linktext = preg_replace("/mailto:/A", "", $url); + + $icon = IconForLink($url); - $link = HTML::a(array('href' => $url), - IconForLink($url), $linktext); + if ($icon) { + /* Get hold of first word: */ + list($head, $tail) = preg_split('/\s+/', $linktext, 2); + + /* Reintroduce space if necessary: */ + if (!empty($tail)) $tail = ' ' . $tail; + + /* Keep icon and first word together: */ + $span = HTML::span(array('style' => 'white-space: nowrap'), + $icon, $head); + + $link = HTML::a(array('href' => $url), $span, $tail); + } else { + $link = HTML::a(array('href' => $url), $linktext); + } } + $link->setAttr('class', $linktext ? Except that requiredAuthority is a method of WikiRequest which already knows the $page, I think.... > 1) > "SELECT groupname FROM $user_group_tbl WHERE username=$username" > > vs. > > 2) (Group data in wiki pages) > In #1 there is one DB call and in #2 there will be 1+N DB calls (where N > > is the number of groups). #2 is not going to scale up very well. #1 requires an SQL backend as well as modifications to WikiDB (or a separate interface to the SQL db). There are speed issues with #2, but I don't think they're as bad as Joby says. Each page belongs to only one group, so for a given access we only have to check for membership in a single group --- not all groups... |

sorry, LinkUnknownWikiWord() was wrong. you have to add that in stdlib.php LinkURL() index.php: $ext_target = '_new'; stdlib.php: /** * Generates an HtmlElement object to store data for a link. * @param string $url URL that the link will point to. * @param string $linktext Text to be displayed as link. * @return HtmlElement HtmlElement object that contains data to construct an html link. */ function LinkURL($url, $linktext = '') { // FIXME: Is this needed (or sufficient?) if(! IsSafeURL($url)) { $link = HTML::strong(HTML::u(array('class' => 'baduri'), _("BAD URL -- remove all of <, >, \""))); } else { if (!$linktext) $linktext = preg_replace("/mailto:/A", "", $url); $link = HTML::a(array('href' => $url), IconForLink($url), $linktext); } $link->setAttr('class', $linktext ? 'namedurl' : 'rawurl'); if (!empty($GLOBALS['ext_target'])) $link->setAttr('target', $GLOBALS['ext_target']); return $link; } aphid schrieb: > On Tuesday, October 1, 2002, at 12:39 AM, Reini Urban wrote: >> aphid schrieb: >> >>> hey, you commented on my wiki that you'd add something for extlinks >>> so it would be possible to make them pop up in new windows.. >>> i was wondering if this had gone in and where i should look for it >>> when it does? i did a multi-file search to try to hunt down where it >>> renders the a href tags for links and couldn't find it. >> >> >> sorry, currently I'm very busy. >> >> I know I did it on my private wiki, so it's not online yet. >> you need <a target"_new" href=""> in LinkUnknownWikiWord() >> >> I added: >> if ($request->getArg('frame')) >> $link->setAttr('target', '_top'); >> >> Similarly you can do that for yours, >> or override this function in your theme. >> >> $link->setAttr('target', '_new'); >> > > I've tried this in theme.php and if it did anything, I'm not sure what. > What I'm trying to do is have links that go away from the wiki (which I > believe are called NamedWiki) to open in "_new".. maybe my calling them > external links confused the situation. > > Cheers > A > -- Reini Urban http://xarch.tu-graz.ac.at/home/rurban/ |
