The reason I chose DB.php in the first place is it will eventually be present on every installation of PHP. They have been very slow to make a clean, featureful version though. Using ADODB means the user (admin) has to install it on her box before installing PhpWiki, which is a barrier to entry I try hard to avoid. (I can't use Galleon or Jabber for that very reason; I can't be bothered to upgrade everything to the latest and greatest just to test something out.)
