I'd wager this is because the SF interface to the mailing lists is still
beta. I didn't know they'd made this change; mailing lists didn't used to
appear here.

Maybe they are working towards the unification of web forums and mailing
lists, since they are indeed redundant. Unfortunately they don't make it
easy to find this info.
