Hi Jeff,

I was just thinking about removing my link-icon code altogether from 1.2 
when your message came in about the feature freeze.

On the other hand, I'd like to extend the link-icon feature into a user 
preference in 1.3. Definitely that would be too much of a change for 1.2, 
so keep link icons as a global option for use with 1.2. What do you think?
