My goal has always been to make PhpWiki as accessible as possible: to admins, to programmers, and to end users. Your problem is an admin problem: you can't tailor the output at the low level you want to. When XSLT is shipped with PHP and comes in a default installation, it would make sense to go this route. What I want to avoid is making the end user rebuild PHP in order to use PhpWiki. It would never get used in that case. I have never used Galeon for this very reason: it wants all the latest Gnome stuff and I have no patience to install it all. I've wanted to do XHTML output for a while.
