I'm not sure, and don't know much about DBM libraries myself...

Me too.  I will try to reproduce this again either tomorrow or monday,
by restoring the zip backup or serialized page I took while it was
happening.  It should be possible, since it happened three times.
Also, it didn't have anything to do with my being in admin mode in the
example I gave, since I saw the page was deleted under regular mode
earlier, and the version number was reset each time...
