action=edit parses e.g. all plugins, and on any syntax error it will
fail with such a
blank page. sorry for the bad error handling.

you can try PluginManager to check that (with better error handling)
and you can also try to delete the caches. (toolbar, images)
the internal php format changed, so you will also get such an error.
