OK, so I tried to contact the list owner and haven't received any replies. I submitted a ticket to the SF.net admins, but they won't step in unless I try to do something like take over the project entirely. As the project itself isn't abandoned, it's just an issue with the active listserver, this seems like a completely inappropriate thing to try. Is there anyone with administrative access to the listserver? -alan ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: SourceForge.net <no...@so...> Date: Nov 29, 2005 12:42 PM Subject: [ alexandria-Support Requests-1368337 ] ML services issue To: no...@so... Category: Project Mailing Lists/Archives/Services Group: First Level Support >Status: Closed Priority: 5 Submitted By: Alan Hoyle (alanhoyle) Assigned to: David Burley (burley) Summary: ML services issue Initial Comment: I am a SourceForge user, alanhoyle, on a couple of projects (OperaHotlist2HTML primarily). I also use phpwiki. The phpwiki-talk list has been getting spammed by non- list members. I made a request to the list and have attempted to contact the list owner in order to change the setting for posts by non-list members: either to require moderation or reject them outright, but I haven't received any response from the owner/moderator. I also posted to the list itself, and all responses were positive. Can this change be made by an administrator? Thanks, alan ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: David Burley (burley) Date: 2005-11-29 12:42 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=3D597273 Greetings, We do not step into project administration issues. If the project won't make the change, you're only option to make it yourself is to request an Abandoned Project Takeover and to then make the change. Short of that, either unsubscribe from the list or do some additional local filtering on mail from that list. Thank you, David Burley Senior Second Level Support Technician, SourceForge.net ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: David Burley (burley) Date: 2005-11-29 12:42 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=3D597273 Greetings, To attempt to takeover an existing project you must submit a new project registration using the same UNIX name that you desire (whether the project is taken or not does not matter). To submit a new project registration, log in to the SourceForge.net website and then use the Create Project link under the Projects toplevel navigation option. Do note that this process can take some time (typically up to 3 weeks), and that if you are in a hurry, you may be best served by registering a new project with a unique UNIX name. Should you require further assistance, please submit a new Support Request. This process also applies to users who have lost control of their projects due to another developer hijacking the project or losing access to their old user account.
