I have the same problem but thought it was due to my setups (multiple layers of proxies at work, a hardware firewall and a software firewall at home). The point where the page-rendering stops is usually roughly the same place, independent of the size of the page. I use both Firefox and IE at home and I use IE at work (with an independent connection to the US, where my website is hosted) A shift-reload usually fixes the problem for the remainder of the session.
