They sent out a new site status update mail yesterday, and the "full CVS 
restauration" was said to happen in the next 5 months.

Currently they are switching it to normal access for anonymous users 
without the 24hr lag between developer commit and anoncvs.
(nfs mounted probably, not rsync'ed as now)
