PHP warnings after upgrade

I just upgraded PHPWiki on a Debian system and it caused all sorts of problems with not being able to read the db. I followed directions I found that meant editing index.php to change the database from db2 to db4 and converting the database with db4.2_upgrade.

That allowed the wiki to work, however now I get the following errors (sorry for the large copy-paste). Can anyone suggest what to do to at least hide these (apparently non-critical) errors?

Well, a solution, of a sort.

By all appearances, the newest version of PHPwiki in Debian Sarge skipped all sorted of variable declaration in index.php. I had to manually copy them from the old version to the new version.

I'm pretty unimpressed. How do bugs this large get through to a release? It's not like I was doing anything out of the ordinary.
