I've read the INSTALL and README files and I am at a loss to understand how to add new users. I have set the configuration to allow "BOGO" posting and not require logins for editing, yet I am forced to login before editing. Furthermore, it is impossible to add new users.

Any help or suggestions would be very welcome.

    Thanks much.

Wow, it's been a while Rantler and nobody has answered! Tsk tsk. Here's my $.02 worth:
Apart from the admin user, there is no such thing as a PHP-Wiki user. There are usernames (any WikiWord is a valid username) and for the normal user logging in is a simple matter of entering their name into the "Log In" box at the bottom right. If the name they enter is the admin user, they will be prompted for a password.
With BOGO enabled, you will be able to create new pages and edit existing unlocked pages without logging in. Unfortunately this (in the default installation) logs the user's IP address and displays "Anonymous (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)" as the author. Although I don't have BOGO enabled, I ran into this on the WikiBlog plugin, and to me it raises privacy concerns, so I have hacked my site to disable that IP address reporting (not a trivial task).
The most useful setup for me is to have BOGO disabled, but allow anyone to login and edit stuff, just by entering a username. You can suggest to users that they use GuestUser if they are uncertain.

You say you are required to login prior to editing, even with BOGO enabled. I think this means that the page you are editing is locked. Unlock it, or try editing a non-existant page, and that should be possible without a password.

I have set up a wheel group of admin users with encrypted passwords, but the password management is manual. I'd be happy to share that patch with you if you'd like user authentication, but it sounds to me like you just want a free-for-all.

      Hope this helps,

      Cuthbert Cat
