Thanks I did not realize this had moved. I did submit a ticket but now that I read this it look like it may not be a bug but just something that hasn't been implemented yet.
Thanks,
Peter

It is fix for issue with Arin and IP addresses from David Saez
nullevent i'm not sure of you are in contact with developing team from this project but David did not told me anything about taking of this project by someone else. Furthermore he did fixed bug with Arin/IP addresses a 5 weeks a go.
nullevent, can you please clarify to us of you just take this project with plan to development it further on your own without contacting original developers? I think it is important for us to know it.
Thanks

This project seemed to be dead, so the idea to contact developers didn't come into my mind. The purpose of creating a fork was to update the code to modern day standards.
Since author is still active and interested in project - I am going to contact him with a proposal to merge the projects and release v5.

I've been in contact with David Suez for more than a year. He would like to wait a bit before realizing new project (because of new gtld domain names) but later because of lack of time he forgot almost about his project phpWhois.
I've pointed to him bugs along with other people and he found time to fix it a 5 weeks a a go (i believe that you still not have fixed same issue with IP addresses by your developmenting of this project while people asking about it in November - https://github.com/phpWhois/phpWhois/issues/8 ).
I'm not sure of David will continue with this project by releasing something new and it is good that you gonna to contact him about this.
I like sourceforge because you can see changes by each version of each file.
It is easy when you would like to update certain files instead of copy/paste everything.

nullevent , actually i think that it is a bit disappointment that while people asking for fixing bugs with Arin/IP addresses lookup in November (06 November) in your taken project - https://github.com/phpWhois/phpWhois/issues/8 ) you guys did not have found time to fix it. Or maybe you do not know how to fix it.
From one side i appreciate very much that someone decide to take this project and try to development something new but from other side i'm bit worry about your skills regarding this project (active development of project with open bugs for more than 2 months is not promising at all).

Deny, thank you for being that deep involved in the project. It seems like you have quite strong skills in managing open source developers. You might be interested in hiring one matching your ambitions to fulfill your talents. Also Github didn't tear down the merge requests and forks features yet, so always feel free to hack the code, just like I did.
And seriously, the goal #1 for my fork's v5 is to rewrite the code to the modern state and add functional tests. So community members may easily contribute and fix bugs without having to dig code as deep as needed for v4, and after have some automatic proofs that their changes are not breaking the core functionality.
A brief roadmap for v5 is located at https://github.com/phpWhois/phpWhois/blob/master/docs/ROADMAP.md
As soon as reworking will be finished - I will post the notice.

It is ok PeterK2003. I know it is open source project and you can actually do what you want to do with codes but consulting originally coders about it is the first step that i would do if i'm coder.
Never mind. It is important that we have now 2 similar project. Once works still (since David found time to fix it) and other one is in development.
See ya

nullevent, thank you for your response but WE ordinary users do not care of there is 'modern state' (where people on shared hosting should probably have issues with installing: Composer - must ask hoster for installing, integration with Travis, phpUnit ....) but functionality and easy way of installing as phpWhois is on this moment.
For myself as ordinary user is the most important thing that any bug in script is fixed in no time and that there is an easy installation (updating files on the server, modifying a couple code and testing).
It looks that you have another priority and it is fine. But i can tell you that it is not what ordinary users are seeking for.
Good luck with your project.

The project is now actively maintained at https://github.com/phpWhois/phpWhois
It was updated to support composer and namespaces, new TLDs were added.
The next planned steps are to cover core functionality with unit tests, and then to work on tests for tlds, IPs and AS querying.
Planned next stable version is 5.0 but for now it is in heavy development state and not ready for production use.
No work on IPs has been done yet, so it would be really helpful if you were able to submit bug reports with the description of problems you met.
Thanks I did not realize this had moved. I did submit a ticket but now that I read this it look like it may not be a bug but just something that hasn't been implemented yet.

PeterK2003, i'm not sure of you have seen update for IP address issues 5 weeks a go-

why wasn't there a new release with the fix.
So it shows up here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/phpwhois/files/?source=navbar
I assumed it wasn't updated since 2011.
You can see any changes in code or any new version of anything regarding this project below:
http://phpwhois.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/phpwhois/phpwhois/?sortby=date#dirlist
