29/march/2002 - X-Web is a new CMS project being created from a fork of
phpWebSite (0.8.1-CVS).
The goal of X-Web is to become a feature rich CMS (content management
system) offering improved data management and scalability, overall
package stability, compatibility, and a shot of powerful new features.
The target user base for X-Web will be both Professional Website
Administrators and the average Personal Website Manager, with an extra
emphasis on creating an excellent user experience.
X-Web is endorsed by phpWebSite Development Team / Appalachian State
University but is, and will remain, completely independent from both of
them. The founders of X-Web thank them for providing this opportunity to
start from such a well-rounded code base.
