I was going to ask about that comment on the website regarding templates. The grammar was so poor that I didn't know if it was legit, since I know so very little about templates. ;) Don. Well we are back today. And oh what joyous messages, comments, and email await us... Anyway, thanks for those of you with helpful comments. I didn't feel like coding this weekend so thanks for being patient. I plan on fixing the notices Don posted. I also have some new ideas about problems people are having. I noticed that many people were complaining about the modules menu. It works fine for us but many Window users are having problems. One thing that may be the culprit is the file_exist function. file_exist might have problems when passed a forward slash for a directory designation. Here are some possible solutions: - Write our own file_exists function that changes the directory to a Windows usable one - use is_file instead (though I suspect it might have the same problems) - Do not use file_exists and just assume the image is there. I volunteer to code IF someone will test it. I don't have a Windows machine. I also have some more ideas about caching templates. Adam asked me about making it smarter. I think I might have a way to do so. I will test that today as well. -- Matthew McNaney Internet Systems Architect Electronic Student Services Appalachian State University Phone: 828-262-6493 phpwebsite.appstate.edu ess.appstate.edu |

Sorry. I had a series of client meetings/functions & just made it back. I see that it's finally released to the wild!!! I know it's a bit late, but if you want to stem the inpending flow of emails from admins wondering what happened to their layouts, here's code fix the problem with convert/mod/pagemaster: replace line 103 $current_section->template = "default.tpl"; with $current_section->template = newLayout($old_page->layout, count($new_page->order)+1); replace line 209 $section_data[] = "default.tpl"; with $section_data[] = newLayout($old_page->layout, count($new_page->order)+1); then insert this function: /** * This function converts the old template styles to the new. * * We need to set section templates depending on what layout the userpage * was using and which section number in order we're on. The Layouts * go as follows: * * 1,4) Transfer to image_right.tpl. All sections use the same template. * * 2,3) Transfer to image_left.tpl. All sections use the same template. * * 5) Odd Sections are image_right. Even Sections are image_left. * * 6) Odd Sections are image_left. Even Sections are image_right. * * @author Eloi George <el...@NO...> * @module userpages->pagemaster conversion script * @param int layout : Layout id of this page. * @param int position : Section's position in the section_order array. * @return string : Name of equivalent layout **/ function newLayout (&$layout, $position) { /* Determine is this section's position is even or odd-numbered */ $odd = fmod($position, 2); /* Layouts 1 or 4 */ if ($layout==1 || $layout==4) return "image_right.tpl"; /* Layouts 2 or 3 */ if ($layout==2 || $layout==3) return "image_left.tpl"; /* Layout 5 */ if ($layout==5) if ($odd) return "image_right.tpl"; else return "image_left.tpl"; /* Layout 6 */ if ($layout==6) if ($odd) return "image_left.tpl"; else return "image_right.tpl"; /* If all else fails, give it the default template */ return "default.tpl"; } Again, you guys have done a really great job!!!! -Eloi George- |

Hello group, Just installed final 0.9.0 and I getting an error after I create a group, assign a user to that group and then trying to login with that user. This is the error; SQL: select group_name from phpws_mod_user_groups where group_id=test order by group_name no such field You see where it says group_id=test, well "test" is the name of the group I created. The acutal ID number is 2. Does anyone else experience this? winzor |

coolio. I notice that the link on the home page goes to a tar ball on your servers. One might want to use the link to the sourceforge mirrors. Then your downloads will be counted on SF.net and all that. Unless you don't give a rats ass about SF.net statistics. :p Just a thought. congrats. Don. Hey Eloi, I may update the conversion script for pagemaster in the future to account for the userpage layout. Time is the limiting factor there. Right now the conversion is meant to help you get the meat of your data into your new site. From a conversion, you will always have to go back and "tidy things up" whether the general layout of the site or the layout of your pages. But at least you don't have to enter all those pages in again by hand :) Adam > Hi! > > I was just looking over the conversion code when I noticed that all PM > Section templates are set to "default.tpl". Hi! I was just looking over the conversion code when I noticed that all PM Section templates are set to "default.tpl". That means all UserPage formatting information would be lost after conversion. Eloi |

I'm pretty sure Mike Noyes will be making an updated HOWTO for installing phpws 0.9.0 on sourceforge's servers. In the meantime here is the contents of our .htacces file: # php.ini configuration <IFModule mod_php4.c> php_value arg_separator.output "&" php_value session.save_path "/home/groups/f/ff/ffl/tmp" php_value memory_limit "12M" </IFModule> You then need to make the directory specified in the session.save_path (not web-accessible) and make it writeable by all. I hope that one of you can We have been running PHPWebsite since Oct. but I have had the user log on feature turned off. However I have turned the feature back on and found that they when we create user accounts, I can see them in the database bu= t they get a "Incorrect Login!" when they try and use the account. It does not matter if the user creates the account or I create it for them. If th= e user has the password reset -same result with new password.
