Is there a document that explains how the xml build is setup? I was fooling around with the manual .xml files and could not get them to build the same way that they are in phpwebsiteroot/manual directory. Thanks, Greg |

Jeff: > Jef...@wh... wrote: >> we are considering >> rebuilding in phpwebsite. Is this doable? To expand on what Eloi said... Yes, but you want to do this as a phpWebSite *module* - rebuilding the phpWebSite core would *not* be the way to go - upgrades, security fixes, etc. become a nightmare since you essentially would have to maintain a fork of the project. The phpWebSite module system allows you you seamlessly integrate an application (complete with whatever database interaction is required) without disrupting the core. Developer docs are lacking... sorry... but look at a few modules. I would recommend looking at the photo album as a good starting point. Kind Regards, Brian W. It's perfectly doable. phpWebsite is designed to work with a large variety of databases. Depending on the type and structure of your pre-existing database, you may most likely require a custom module to be written to access & display it the way you want to. -Eloi George (aDarkling)- Jef...@wh... wrote: > Is it possible to incorporate pre-existing, non-phpws databases into a phpws- > managed site? > > We have a large mysql database of electronic resources. Hi all, I'm very new to Open Source development and PHP in general. Anyway, I modified PHPWS to make a cookie to enable someone to be able to not re-login every time. My problem is when I use PHPWS_User_Cookie::write_cookie() it works fine, but when I try to kill the cookie in Users::logout() with PHPWS_User_Cookie::cookie_crumble() it doesn't expire. Why is that? I had to finally just clear my cookie value out by using PHPWS_User_Cookie::write_cookie() instead, to be able to log out. I'll be posting what I did to phpwebsitemanual.com after I clean it up as much as I can (it's a pretty ugly hack as I'm still trying to figure out how PHPWS works.) __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Hi all, Many of you know me from my invitations to attend the third international OSCOM conference at Harvard last spring. I write now to invite you to join a new mailing list for CMS development communities. This invitation is being sent to about 75 mailing lists and team leaders. (Apologies to those who are already list members.) Many of these emails will be rejected since ed...@cm... is not a list member. But we hope the list administrators will notice the request and forward the invitation to their mailing lists. If we get no response from some, we will join those lists to make the announcement. We will also announce at http://cmsinfo.org. List info is at http://mailman.skybuilders.com/mailman/listinfo/cms-develop. We do not expect a lot of traffic, but the subjects will be matters of interest to all communities, like standards adoption, and following up on Tony Byrne's suggestions at OSCOM (http://www.cmswatch.com/Features/OpinionWatch/FeaturedOpinion/?feature_id=89). Tony's presentation is available on the web at http://media.skybuilders.com/oscom/Byrne/Byrne.rm _____________________ Are you too busy developing to research media contacts for publicity?. Hello! I'm using phpwebsite version 0.9.3-1-full. When you go to remove an announcement, and in the confirmation phase press submit (Yes-button), this is what I have in the apache logs: "GET /index.php?module=announce&ANN_op=delete&ANN_id=125 HTTP/1.0" 200 11843" "POST /index.php HTTP/1.0" 200 11427 http://server/index.php?module=announce&ANN_op=delete&ANN_id=125" And in the mysql logs I see this: 1333 Query select * from mod_announce where id = '125' 1323 Query delete from mod_announce where id = '125' 1323 Query delete from mod_fatcat_elements where module_title = 'announce' and module_id = 125 As you can see, everything goes OK. BUT, if you press submit (Yes-button) _many times_ in the confirmation phase (because the delete operation can take some time if the server is heavily loaded, and the user thinks that nothing is happening..), this is what happens: "GET /index.php?module=announce&ANN_op=delete&ANN_id=125 HTTP/1.0" 200 11843" "POST /index.php HTTP/1.0" 200 11427 http://server/index.php?module=announce&ANN_op=delete&ANN_id=125" "POST /index.php HTTP/1.0" 200 11427 http://server/index.php?module=announce&ANN_op=delete&ANN_id=125" "POST /index.php HTTP/1.0" 200 11427 http://server/index.php?module=announce&ANN_op=delete&ANN_id=125" and in the mysql.. not so nice things: 1333 Query select * from mod_announce where id = '125' 1333 Query delete from mod_announce where id = NULL 1333 Query delete from mod_fatcat_elements where module_title = 'announce' And quess what? All the announcements are gone from the pages! The delete-query above deletes ALL the categories from the ALL announcements! Any ideas how to fix this? This bug happens every time I try this.. It looks like the "and module_id =" is "optimized" away because the module_id is NULL :) causing ALL the stuff to be deleted.. -- Pasi Kärkkäinen ^ . . Linux / - \ Choice.of.the .Next.Generation. |

All the current modules released with the main distribution with the exception of phpwsBB and phpwsRSSFeeds are maintained by the core team. You can however always address any problems with any of the included modules through the phpWebSite bug reporting system on sf.net. The code is held on the cvs server at ASU. To find out more, visit phpwebsite.appstate.edu. You can drop into IRC anytime on irc.freenode.net #phpwebsite and chances are good you'll find someone who can be of assistance. You can submit your patch to the tracker, which can be found here: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?atid=315539&group_id=15539&func=browse HTH Wendall On Thu, 2004-02-05 at 23:03, Giz wrote: > I had some issues to figure out in configuring the Documents Module that > required figuring out some PHP issues, and also resulted in my having to > edit some source code. I had some issues to figure out in configuring the Documents Module that required figuring out some PHP issues, and also resulted in my having to edit some source code. In the process I created a small patch. My question is, where is that module maintainted? It's not part of core, but I am not clear where the module owners are keeping their code. I tried the website for the email addy of the author, but it's basically an empty page with a couple of email bucket links. |
