For those of you on Macs. The recent, and possibly last update to OSX 10.3, v 10.3.9 includes a vastly updated version of Safari. Lots and lots of goodness that is useful in phpWebSite. Featurewise, contenteditable and XSLT support are the nicest although the dramatic speed improvements are nice. contenteditable might see WYSIWYG editing support in Safari and phpwebsite finally I guess. I'll let Dave Hyatt explain the changes... http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/hyatt/ Also, If you've got the debug menu switched on, select 'Use Transparent Window'. If your style sheets don't specify a background colour and you've not used body bgcolor tags, all youy boxes now float on your desktop as if they were Dashboard widgets in Panther. Really nice update. Shaun aegis design - http://www.aegisdesign.co.uk |

Have a look at how module specific CSS is implemented in the phpwsRSSfeeds module. The latest version even works on branches now that it copies over the CSS file. ;-) That's how it's currently done. At least until fallout. Shaun aegis design - http://www.aegisdesign.co.uk |

Actually, it seems more complex than that. The good news is that the suggestion does fix the problem: > Test it by switching $parse_all_files = TRUE; in > conf/security_config.php to false. However, it does not appear to be all PDFs. I've devoted a lot of MIPS to this problem over the last week without solving it until I read Shaun's post (thanks, Shaun!). The issue also appears related in some way to the size of the PDF files. I have succeeded with every PDF under about a half-meg that I've tried, but failed with PDFs of a meg or more. Playing with upload_max_filesize doesn't seem to have any impact on the problem. Toggling $parse_all_files to FALSE resolves the issue but I don't understand why. And oddly enough, the problem first showed up on a church bulletin PDF for us as well. However, since then I've replicated it in a wide variety of (mostly technical) PDFs. That's just a little too common in uploads. I don't know what effect that has for security though as it's obviously opening up a tiny doorway. dl seems a odd php function to block although I guess in conjunction with another exploit, being able to load up apache modules at runtime might be useful to a hacker. It sounds like you went way beyond this, but did you know that there *IS* an E-mail notification sent by the system already? The "User Email Contact" in the "User Administration" -> "Settings" screen will automatically be sent a notification anytime a new approval is waiting in the system. As I said, though, it sounds like you went way beyond that anyway, but I just wanted to make sure you knew. I love phpwebsite, but in the past couple of years I have been annoyed by one problem in the implementation of the approval module. You never know when an approval is pending. I had created a small crontabbed program to send an e-mail once a day when an approval was needed but I thought there must be a better way. I finally got off my duff and hacked the functionality into the user module. What my "fix" does is place a link on the menu that is displayed after you log in that says: "Approvals Pending" and links to the approval module when: 1. A new setting in the user manager saying "show pending approvals" is checked. 2. You have authority to do approvals. 3. There are approvals pending. The patch has been uploaded to the patch manager on sourceforge (against 0.10.1) at: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1175176&group_id=15539&atid=315539 (Watch the wrap). The only thing to look out for is the version numbers I had to change to test it, both in boost.php and upgrade.php. -Tony -- Hometown Enterprises Internet Services Professional, affordable web design and hosting. http://www.hteis.com/ |

There is a section on MS Windows installations. There is a file you have to edit for MS Windows platforms. Also check the section also on how much memory you have allowed in you php.ini settings since you have control over this. Insufficient memory can cause these flaky display results. Today I was wondering how to stop people from posting overly wide images in content such as a forum and came across a solution that mostly works. This is for people using <img src="blah.jpg" /> rather than uploading images to modules that support images. The max-width CSS property is really handy at limiting the size of an element but IE doesn't support it. IE however does have something that works in a similar way but uses an 'expression' which is unique to IE. Here's the CSS ... .posting img { max-width:400px; width: expression(this.width > 400 ? 400: true); } Mozilla, Firefox and Opera pick up max-width and will scale an image to 400px wide if it's more than 400px. Safari will too but bizarrely doesn't scale proportionally so the height stays the same. I hope Apple fix this at some point. I've not tested on MacIE but with MS killing that off and now also the MSN client that contained the old MacIE core, that's academic. IE doesn't understand max-width so uses the width:expression and scales the same as if it knew max-width. I used this in a phpwsBB template. in view.tpl, around the BODY tag, stick a <div class="posting">...<div> I got the idea from http://www.svendtofte.com/code/max_width_in_ie/ which also gives details for line lengths. Thought I'd pass this on. It's very handy if you're using a fixed layout or don't want your page going extra wide and one of the cleanest css hacks I've seen in a while. I am having some difficulties with the latest release candidate. I've gotten it down to an easily reproducible fault. This is a brand new install of phpwebsite-0.10.1-RC1.tar.gz on a hosted LAMP system. A fair amount of data is already on the site and everything else is working correctly. We've got FAQs, Photo Gallery, etc. running fine. Here's how to reproduce the problem: * Create a menu. * Add two items. (Doesn't seem to matter if they are internal pages or not.) * Add an item under one of the items. (Ditto.) * Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/ignigorg/public_html/cms/mod/menuman/class/Menu.php on line 362 I do not believe that it is in the creation of the menu so much as the display of the menu because once this occurs you can click on the offending item in the "real" menu and get the same error msg. As long as a menu has only one level of items, it works correctly. But as soon as a second level is added, it blows. Is anyone else having this problem? Has anyone got a solution? Thanks! Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/ignigorg/public_html/cms/mod/menuman/class/Menu.php on line 362 I do not believe that it is in the creation of the menu so much as the display of the menu because once this occurs you can click on the offending item in the "real" menu and get the same error msg. As long as a menu has only one level of items, it works correctly. But as soon as a second level is added, it blows. Is anyone else having this problem? Has anyone got a solution? Thanks! I'd need the user_ids, so I can join them with the rest. listMembers() function in mod/users/class/Group.php would seem to=20 already do what you're after. It's always better to address the objects directly via their class=20 functions than to try and mess with the data directly as you'd be in=20 danger of your module breaking if the base classes changed how they=20 stored their data. =46rom mod/users/docs/devdoc.txt... PHPWS_User($user_id) : creates a user object with that user's data. PHPWS_User_Groups($group_id) : Group object constructor isDeity([$user_id]) : Returns TRUE if the user is a Deity. Without the=20= user_id, the current logged user will be used. checkPassword($pass1, $pass2) : performs error checking on two=20 passwords. Returns an array of error messages or NULL if the passwords will work. getUserId($username) : returns the user_id of a particular username getUserName ($user_id) : returns the username of a particular user_id isUser : returns TRUE if the current user has an account. getGroupname($group_id) : returns group name of group_id userInGroup($group_id[, $user_id]) : returns TRUE if the user is in the=20= group designated by the group_id listUserGroups([$user_id]) : returns an array of groups that the user=20 is a member of. It is indexed by the group id and the value is the name of the group. listMembers($group_id) : returns an array of users in a particular=20 group. The array is indexed by the user_id. The values of the array are the usernames. listAllGroups() : returns an array of groups indexed by group_id. listUserGroupVars($user_id, $module_title) : returns an array of group=20= variables for a user. The array is indexed by the group id and contains an array of the=20 variables and their values. Shaun aegis design - http://www.aegisdesign.co.uk |

I like it. Although I imagine it's not top of the list for Matt. Shaun aegis design - http://www.aegisdesign.co.uk |

I'd like to change the "no" next to "in/out board" in the cms matrix for phpwebsite(http://www.cmsmatrix.org/matrix?func=3DviewDetail <http://www.cmsmatrix.org/matrix?func=3DviewDetail&wid=3D2&listingId=3D10= 57> &wid=3D2&listingId=3D1057) to a yes. writing such a module should be = pretty easy. It's just two tables: =20 one with mod_inoutboard_users(id, user_id, status_id, timestamp) and the second with mod_inoutboard_stati(status_id, caption). =20 my plan would be to show the status of the group(s) the current user is logged in to. in a box. all the time. it should be as easy as a=20 =20 select caption, username from mod_groups g left join mod_users u on u.group_id=3Dg.id left join mod_inoutboard_users iu on u.user_id=3Diu.user_id left join mod_inoutboard_stati s on s.status_id=3Diu.s having g.id=3D.... =20 the catch here is of course, that groups are stored in only one field. = in a compressed form, like 1:4:2. =20 does anyone have advice on how I'd select all users of a certain group efficiently? I'd need the user_ids, so I can join them with the rest. =20 thanks, =20 Ren=E9! |
