Hi! There are still some problems with the french translation. Here's a first list of errors I have found so far. I hope it is clear: PHPWEBSITE TRANSLATION ERRORS Admin->Add new topic: "Under topic" == "Sous le sujet"; "Topic Long Text" == "Description du sujet" Add Topic Error Message: "You must submit an image when creating a new topic!" == "Vous devez soumettre une image quand vous créez un sujet" Search Results: "Announcements matching your query are:" == "Annonces répondant à votre recherche:"; "Pages matching your query are:" == "Pages répondant à votre recherche:" Web Links: "Main Links" is not "Liens principal" but "Liens principaux" (correct plural form) "Search Web Links" is not translated and should be "Recherche dans les liens web" Your Account (when logged in)->Lost password box: "PAs de problème" should be "Pas de problème" (type with A<->a) Can someone fix these for the next release or so? Thanks :) ----------------------- Alain Fontaine Consultant & Developer VAlain S.A. Tél: +32-4-2522950 ----------------------- |

Hello, First of all, yes! I am still alive :). I was very busy these past weeks, but now I have some time again. I am in the process of installing phpWebSite on a w2k server running PHP 4.0.5, and the crypt() function is not supported on that platform. I have seen that at some places, the PHP code seems to make use of a $system variable to chose whether or not to use crypt(), but this doesn't work right yet, mainly because the $system variable doesn't seem to be defined, and misses "global" declaration in many functions. This can be fixed in one of the next releases, maybe. Thanks :) |

Hello everyone! For those of you who want to get your hands dirty and get an idea of how modules will be working you can take a peak at the userpage code in the next release of phpws (v0.7.10). The code is basically just sitting in the plug-ins directory at the moment and not being used since we're going to make some changes to the database and some file/directory changes as well. Most of these changes are just renaming some stuff to modules instead of plug-ins though there will be some database changes made to support the new module design. I would strongly suggest that you wait to see the HOWTO before doing any serious coding since all these changes will be "set in stone" at that time and you can have a reference. Until then I'll be happy to answer questions through the developers list. Take care, Adam >> Indeed the design has started. We're basically going to "morph" phpws1 >> into >> phpws2. Hello all... I came accross theme.php in 1225AM... in the themearticle() func. someone removed the '&' fix and replaced it with '&'... there must be a way to be more careful with making commits that remove previous fixes... could it be that people aren't updating their working files after every fix? what's the deal? this particular case would've been overlooked if you simply replaced the file :) Who knows what else might pass without notice... let's be more careful, please. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Adam Morton (refurbished) Date: 2001-07-27 16:33 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=129723 Send an email to developers list about this wardog...I totally agree with you. No there aren't any docs at this time. We've discussed it a little bit but nothing has been nailed down. We want to get phpws pulled apart into modules before we can get a clear idea of the database structure needed. Adam > >> Indeed the design has started. Indeed the design has started. We're basically going to "morph" phpws1 into phpws2. What we're doing is picking apart phpws into class based modules. Once we get each "object" into modules we'll make the rest of the core class based as well. I just finished coding up the userpage module recently and we're going to release it in v0.8.0. This is just the module end though and some database and core changes will be occuring in the future. Also I'm going to write the HOWTO for writing modules for phpws2. Don't worry if you've written a module for phpws1, it's pretty easy to port it over and it doesn't HAVE to be class based though it makes it a lot easier (and it runs faster I've found). I hope this gives you a heads up on whats going to be coming up in the future. It should be more clear when you get to see some code and read the HOWTO. Take care, Adam > So, has the design been started for phpWebSiteII? It sounds like it should work. Also in cvs and the upcoming 0.7.10 there is user database abstraction. You can have a central user database for all your sites using phpwebsite. > > I want to set up a bilingual English / Spanish phpWebsite site. > > It occurred to me that it could be done by: > > Setting up two copies of phpWebsite - one English and one Spanish > > Point each of them to the same database and the same directories for > images through the config.php files. > > This would allow the user to switch back and forth between English and > Spanish. I want to set up a bilingual English / Spanish phpWebsite site. It occurred to me that it could be done by: Setting up two copies of phpWebsite - one English and one Spanish Point each of them to the same database and the same directories for images through the config.php files. This would allow the user to switch back and forth between English and Spanish. The articles and pages uploaded would be in which ever language they're posted in. So, if you wanted a page to be in both English and Spanish, you'd either post it twice, or put the English and Spanish versions in the same page. Anyone tried this? I'm wondering if pointing two different copies of phpWebsite to the same image and userpage directories would work or if the code is dependent on these directories being in the same directory tree. Any comments? Geoff |

I have thought seriously about porting phpwebsite to postgres, but since I don't want to get caught up in anything long term, I was planning on waiting till 8.0 came out as it seemed best to do it on a major release version. If anyone is intrested or has already started on something like this, I'd be intrested in hearing from you. robert > -----Original Message----- > From: php...@li... > [mailto:php...@li...]On Behalf Of > Brian W. The increase would be greater compared to (e|p)reg_replace, but we don't use that anymore :-) Besides giving the speed increase, it is more or less a question of how to do something, generally speaking :-) Regards, Karsten -- fishfarm - Karsten Dambekalns Echternstr. 73 - 38100 Braunschweig Tel. +49 531 1232902 mailto:k.d...@fi... Just this morning I was directed to the eteamz.com site by a friend who manages a youth league site. http://www.eteamz.com/brookvillecomets I created a demo site if you wanted to browse. http://www.eteamz.com/sampleleague (the admin password is demo123 if you want to look around, but there isn't any content). Is this style project we're looking to create on a more general basis that might have a sports roster plug-in let's say? It's pretty user friendly and has moderation, etc. It is obviously closed source and is written in Cold Fusion. What do you think? It gave me a few ideas. --Todd |

Hi, I am a new member of the phpws community and I have been working on the n= ewsletter plugin for phpws. I began to port the Nuke Newsletter Plugin to phpws but I am lacking time to finish it properly. So I have put all the files in the CVS and I hope someone will help in fi= nishing it.
