So, the current permission system seems to be that the permissions  
aren't used unless you're an admin? That does indeed seem superfluous  
although being able to switch on/off all the permissions for a user  
might be handy. So, in theory +1.

Couldn't we just sidestep this by having a group of users defined with  
no permissions and moving the user to that group if you want to ban  
them? Simplify the whole interface by just having a group pulldown to  
assign them to a group.

I hope, for 1.0, we have some default user groups sorted with  
appropriate default permissions. How about....

'Guests'
'Registered'
'Admins'
'Deities'
'Banned'

And hopefully some easy method of allowing viewing content to be set to  
a group permission.
