[Phpwebsite-developers] $core Object?

It seems like the $core object is missing from version 9.2? I really 
liked using $core on some pages like the index file just because it is 
less typing although I can type for myself a reference for it 
($core=&$GLOBALS['core']) which takes up no extra memory. Is there a 
reason why this variable was removed?
