[Phpwebsite-developers] Installing PEAR on a virtual host w no shell access

I need to install 0.9 RC 1 on a virtual host without shell access.

I've looked for a week for documentation on how to install PEAR in this 
circumstance and have found nothing.

Can anybody help out with some info?
