I don't see this as ideal at all.  It means there is yet Another! 
place to go.  Sourcforge is far from perfect, but there are multiple 
projects in the same place.  and it is servicable.   People know how 
to use it, and it draws attention for the project.  If you put 
support and discussion someplace else, phpWS will get less exposure 
and less participation, not more. 

This thread has been the busiest of any thread on the developer list. 

I suggest before you recommend the use of a mailing list, you should 
look at the activity on other threads for this list.

A few emails have one (_1_) reply,  the vast majority have zero (_0_) 

replies.  Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the effectiveness of 
mailing lists.   

BTW, There is a forum, http://www.phorum.org, that has built in 
support for a email-to-forum interface.
