[Phpwebsite-developers] Fileman file upload specs

I couldn't upload a gif file using the fileman module. (Error Message: 
lloydsignature.gif is not an allowed file type on this server)

Error has the complete filename as part of the error message. (shouldn't 
the error message only contain the file extension?)

The fileman module does not use the allowed filetypes in the configuration 
section of admin. Shouldn't it use that list rather than the one hardcoded 
in the fileman confiugration file?
