Greetings, As a birthday gift to all you helpful developers I have added the important 'multisite' file to the CVS copy. Look for multisite_readme.php for instructions. Multi site seems to work with one exception: all old modules do not work with it so the 'spoke' site is fairly boring. You can log in and play with the standard modules written for the core. Old modules can (and will) be updated to work eventually, so hang tight. As for what multisite does. It allows you to run several sites off one base of code. The only files that the 'spoke' needs are their themes and box files. You can run the other site on a separate database or (if you fillout the database config files correctly) on the same one. Anyway, I hope this will help answer the question of WHY we feel the need to write a new core. Think: 20 sites upgraded = 1 set of code. Pretty nice eh?
