I like phplib, because it is very clean, simple and fast. Besides that, I
worked with it and know my way around it's use. I looked at ADODB and it
seems to have a sensible interface. I did not look under the hood, though.
Has anybody some experience about ADODB's speed? That seems to be one of the
most critical issues.

No, it should come with any PHP4 release (and it did on my setup). But I
dislike the PEAR idea more and more. Not beacuse PEAR is bad itself, but
because the actual PEAR:DB thing seems to be "slow by design". And we
shouldn't really help Intel and AMD with their marketing :-)

I will go with the majority, whatever result may come up. But please read my
reply to Geoff Staples mail regarding phplib.
