ok. with wincvs i type
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@152.10.194.1:/home/cvsroot login 

then follows the messages:

(Logging in to anonymous@152.10.194.1)

*****CVS exited normally with code 0*****

the same result if i substitute the ip# with res1.resnet.appstate.edu

so, what am i doing wrong?
