Would it be possible for Article manager to nag the
creator of an article that it is about to expire? Say
by sending an e-mail? 

This kind of functionality would greatly enhance a very
good module.

This would require the use of Cron Jobs -- running a script at
predetermined times.  I wouldn't include something like that in a module
because then I'd have to teach people how to use it, which as any Hosting
Provider will tell you, is a nightmare.

Article Manager 4.0 (due by July 11th) will allow you to filter your
article lists by expiration date ranges.  I hope that will satisfy your
needs.
