Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Tommy de Jesus (trf0000) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Article Manager restricted content Initial Comment: I'll need this confirmed, but it's happening on my system. User A is in a restricted group. User A creates an article and sends for approval. User A tries to delete the article, but cannot. The group does have delete rights. Approver approves article. User A still cannot delete it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Eloi George (adarkling) Date: 2008-10-13 01:16 Message: AM Main Menu doesn't restrict the list to editable articles because there are a lot of other operations that admins can do without having editing authorization (frontpage, publish/expire, import/export, etc..). In response to another RFE, I added an "editable articles only" filter to the search menu. >>If User A creates a new webpage, User A can edit it, but not other members of Group B, as no one has restricted the new webpage to Group B (IMO this is incorrect behavior and I'll be posting it as a bug in the proper area.)<< Yeah, I wasn't too happy about it either, but it does makes sense for certain types of workflow. It would be great if you could specify "per user/site" automatic view restrictions and edit permissions, though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tommy de Jesus (trf0000) Date: 2008-09-29 17:30 Message: ok, I've done som more digging. I've compared permissions between Article Manager and Webpages. in webpages the permissions aren't perfect, but they are closer. User A is in restricted Group B. Group B is restricted for AM and webpages. An unrestricted user restricts Article A and Webpage A to Group B. User A has no permissions except those in Group B. User A can see a list of articles, including Article A, but in the action column there is no edit link. User A can see a list of webpages, but only those pages restricted to Group B. If User A creates a new webpage, User A can edit it, but not other members of Group B, as no one has restricted the new webpage to Group B (IMO this is incorrect behavior and I'll be posting it as a bug in the proper area.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=681146&aid=2130662&group_id=81360 |
