Initial Comment:
On phpWebSite 1.4.0 (using the internal PEAR) I see the following error after I click OpenID on the Administration tabl of the control panel:

Fatal error: No XML parser was found in /var/www/phpwebsite_1_4_0/mod/openid/class/Auth/Yadis/XML.php on line 366

I do see the (XML) parser in the (phpWebSite) PEAR tree ...
