Pierre - phpWebLog is unsupported software now but the problems you're having are fairly general to a shared PHP environment. Either you or your host are out of date with your PHP version and/or the global configuration. At this point I would personally be more inclined to try PHPNuke as it's more forgiving and is being maintained very actively. Could you give me a furthur detail on the follwing paragraph of the INSTALL : 3. Prepare Configuration Edit include/common.inc.php. The top portion needs some things configured before the system will work. Namely, the database settings, full path to your directory, and full URL to your web site. Please give me an example of "full path to your directory". Is it on your local computer or distant server ? Please provide me an example. Best regards, Pierre Johnson |

I am quite new to PHP. However, I succeded installing EasyPHP and starting to configure Weblog on my local computer. But I keep on hammering on an error trying to set it up : While loading the /weblog/setup/index.php page after creating my database and setting up options as described in the INSTALL file, I have the following error : Warning: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated - argument passed by value; If you would like to pass it by reference, modify the declaration of cache_eval_expire(). If you would like to enable call-time pass-by-reference, you can set allow_call_time_pass_reference to true in your INI file. However, future versions may not support this any longer. in C:\Documents and Settings\My name\Mes documents\Web\weblog\include\cache.inc.php on line 186 Notice: Use of undefined constant CACHE_ON - assumed 'CACHE_ON' in C:\Documents and Settings\My name\Mes documents\Web\weblog\include\cache.inc.php on line 28 Notice: Use of undefined constant CACHE_DIR - assumed 'CACHE_DIR' in C:\Documents and Settings\My name\Mes documents\Web\weblog\include\cache.inc.php on line 29 ...followed by a long list of lines with similar errors. What should I do ? Pierre Johnson |

My main host is tuxfamily.org (a sourceforge like in french). they host 1192 projects. May be CVS, nobody knows. You can access to the story at http://tuxfamily.gradator.net/EtatdeTuxFamily (but in french) In fact there is no more /etc/passwd on the server, so the admin shutdown all network communications (HTTP, FTP, HTTP, FTP, CVS pserver et SSH) Franck Aka Romarin At 18:47 08/02/2004 -0500, you wrote: >On Feb 9, 2004, ro...@ro... wrote: > > |my main host were were hacked some weeks ago, for now i have no time to > |upgrade the new one. > >Sorry to hear about your hack - I read about a vulnerability in phpWeblog. Curtis,
Thanks - that is exactly the same solution I came up with!
Cheers!

Greg,
I believe I ran into the same problem. I ended up doing:
<?
include("include/common.inc.php");
include("include/header.inc.php");
$main["Heading"] = "Testing of the heading";
$main["Content"] = <<<EOD
this will display the navigation bar along with content
<p>
<div align="left">Insert html data and the like here...</div>
<br>
EOD;
F_drawMain($main);
include("include/footer.inc.php");
?>

Hi all... This isn't a development question per se, but I'm not sure where else to discuss it (I did put it up on phpweblog.org, but it hasn't been approved yet). I am interested in providing access to external html pages from phpweblog, but I want them to be inserted into the content pane. This would be analogous to creating a page that is a link. However, for these pages, I do not want them to appear as a link on the top navigation bar. My situation is as follows. I have several newsletters I want to publish. I have created an index.html that points to the root of the newsletters. I have created a page -> link for this and it works fine. The problem is that the links on my index.html will bring the user out of phpweblog rather than internalizing the html. Can phpweblog do this? Can I hack a url in my html files to make this work? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! /greg -- Gregory F. March -=- http://www.gfm.net:81/~march -=- AIM:GfmNet |

I'm working on a small site and have started to play around with phpweblog. Is it possible to include _just_ the 'web news' into a site that i've already made? Basically I have a site with two tables, links on the left and content in the center. How can I include phpweblog into a already designed site w/o it destorying the layout? I attempted to do this: - I changed the paged width to 50%, and removed the blocks on the left - <? include "/home/curt/public_html/ccsd/inc/phpweblog/stories.php"; ?> (This of course ruined the tables I already had setup...) If anyone has any suggestions...let me know The only other idea I had was: - Create 'links' on the 'left block', and use the templates that's already in place with phpweblog. the problem with this was I can't find a easy way to include the 'content' of phpweblog. ie - I want to click on a link and display the content in the center, keeping the same site design that's already in place... thanks.. |

I have just installed PHP Weblog. That went fine. I now want to explore what I can do with its index page, etc. Is there a way I can save time by reading some help file I may have missed? (I have read the install file that comes with the distro). Thanks everybody, Steve ________________________________________________________________________ Want to chat instantly with your online friends? Get the FREE Yahoo! Hi: I am new here, I just discovered this application in the moment I planned to develop one, so this is just a gift to me. I got a lot of troubles when I install it. Hi! Thanks for providing this arena for support for phpweblog, I've got some = support questions already... :) My server is a W2K server, and already has a working php board on it = (phpbb). The database is set up, the install went fine, but now I've got issues that I can't figure out = what's causing them. 1) Every single page I go to, I have to reenter the admin password and = login. For example, I can login, but then if I try to go to /admin/layout.php, it asks for my password/login again. If I then = login, modify stuff on the layout.php and click "submit", it asks me = AGAIN for login password 2) The second issue is what happens following the example #1. Upon the = second login, the page won't display, so I don't get "submit.php", it = just appears blank. This hoses me, as anything I attempt to modify = doesn't go through...as the page doesn't return. Cheers! Jan |
