btw, we should be able to choose either :

1. YES I have GD available on my server 
or
2. NO I do NOT have GD on my server

as that would avoid errors (right?) such as :

Fatal error: Call to unsupported or undefined function
imagecreatefromgif() in inc.d/common.inc.php on line 792

as at current my server does not enable this function ;(  it will once i
ask but it would be nice to enable/disable such image creation
functionality vs having nasty error...
