phpPgAdmin 3.0 Released
---------------------------

3rd July 2003

The phpPgAdmin project is pleased to announce the final 3.0 release.

phpPgAdmin 3.0 has been rewritten from scratch over the last year in order to address many of the problems with the 2.4 codebase. In particular, phpPgAdmin is now largely immune to your PHP settings regarding register_globals and magic_quotes.

Now that we have a solid base with good functionality, we will move toward adding more advanced features in 3.1 and beyond.... read more

phpPgAdmin 3.0 enters beta phase

This beta release represents a feature freeze and a translation strings freeze. If you are a translator, now is the time to update your translation.

Please submit ALL bugs that you find so that we can make the final 3.0 release as rock solid as possible. Most importantly, please test the new tree menu applet.

We intend to do a final release in a week or two.

After that, the plan is to add lots of new features for 3.1.

As well as French, Japanese and Russian translations, all our translations work better and we've fixed a lot of small bugs. phpPgAdmin is a fully functional web-based administration utility for a PostgreSQL database server. Second development version of phpPgAdmin 3.0.0 released.

This new version builds upon the foundation of the previous development release. We have added many new features and have fixed many bugs.

Most improved is our language support. All actions now work with Chinese and Polish languages. More translations are welcome.

If you are looking to test out our features, the ones we think deserve the most attention is the new 'Create index' JavaScript column picker, and the language support.

phpPgAdmin 3.0.0 development version released

The phpPgAdmin project is proud to announce that the first phpPgAdmin 3.0.0 development release is available.

The phpPgAdmin 3.0 series has full support for all the new features of PostgreSQL 7.3. However, we have not yet ported all the features from phpPgAdmin 2.4.2, so evaluate it before you commit to it.

phpPgAdmin 3 has been renamed from WebDB 0.6.5, but otherwise it is the same code.

WebDB 0.6.5 Released

WebDB 0.6.5 was released today. It has a VAST number of improvements and fixes over 0.6, but it is still a development release.

The developers have decided to rename WebDB to phpPgAdmin 3.0 and future released will become 3.0 development releases. Expect many changes to the code before we hit a 3.0 release.

The decision to change the name back to phpPgAdmin was made so as to capitalise on the existing popularity of phpPgAdmin.

WebDB 0.6.0 Released

WebDB 0.6 is suitable for day-to-day use for basic PostgreSQL features. Please try it on your version of PostgreSQL so we can check its compatibility.
