I recieve this message when i try to register or log into the chat:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: crypt() in c:\program files\apache group\apache\htdocs\phpopenchat\html\index.php on line 59

This is my first attempt at installing this chat. Anyone have any ideas?!!!

  you seem to have php in an quite early version installed.
  try a newer version and you have crypt available

  Thanks for the tip. I had PHP version 4.0 I upgraged to version 4.0.6 and the chat now works on my local system.
  
  All I have to do now is customize it.
