Hi - Me Again!
I have now deleted the entire thing from my web server. Uploaded it and repeated the instructions above about 6 times and here we are 4 days later still not working!
I just tried it this minute.
Can somebody please answer this post and tell me how to fix this problem - I've been promising a new chat site to my visitors for ages now and I am going to have to find another script if I can't get your one working soon.

sorry, but on most site it worked. what kind of websever do you use? which php-version? which operating system? what is logged in the error-log?
i need to know this because when i install the chat, it works

I just posted a forum yesterday here, and worked on it all night. Try this: http://forum.powweb.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10514
I put the code the guy there did recommend into each php page which has an include command and the chat works, but now you ccan only be seen if you whisper to others, not if you speak. If anyone has an idea about it, please let me know it.

OK I've just about lost patience with this now so somebody please help me!
1 - I downloaded the phpopenchat zip file
2 - I unzipped it
3 - I uploaded all the files on to my web server
4 - I write enabled /includes/default_inc.php and I write enabled /html/.htaccess
5 - I ran /html/admin/install.php
6 - I followed all 5 steps of the installation
7 - It got right to the end and said "Now Go Back to your chat and check the installation has worked" or something like that.
8 - Every time I try and access any part of the chat site it says "Internal Server Error" and tells me to contact the webmaster (Myself).
9 - I have checked phpAdmin and the tables are all there
10 - I have checked that the default_inc.php and .htacess files were amended and yes they were
So why isn't my chat site working??

please somebody help me because I have ben trying to get this darned thing working for nearly 7 hours now and it's finally rendered me brain dead!!!
