PHPOpenChat / Discussion / Diskussion/Discussion: merging with phpBB users table?

Is it possible to adapt PHPOpenChat to use the same users table as phpBB? Preferably phpBB v1.4.4?

I would like to add a "chat" facility onto my existing phpBB site without my users having to register twice.

Any ideas? :)

  Boy I would love to know that one too! I don't want to have to have users register for each and every PHP Script I add to my site. I already have a Memberz only section, password protected, PHPBB, and now this. That would be cool!

  There are Scripts for this issue, integration into phpBB, yabbse & nuke. Your users must not register themselves again. www.phpopenchat.de > Downloads > Mods.

  I downloaded the latest version (3.0.0) and am trying to get it to merge with phpBB2.0.8a. The scripts in the contrib directories help, but you still need to make changes to your phpBB files to get it to merge correctly. The poc.php and poc_login.php from the contrib directory are updated from those in the mod, but there is no mod script in the contrib directory for modifying the phpBB files. The install script at the link above is not quite right, but can be used as a starting point. I'm still strugling with this and may post a new install mod script when I get it working.

  i had the same problem and wasted lots of time trying to integrate phpopenchat with phpbb2 till i finally did it visit my site at http://blackorwhite.nl
  for the instructions on how to install it and visit my forum to see my chat room integration in PhpBB2 at work

  besides if installingitall so far, open the config.inc.php and findthe line that has something in it liek 60*35*25 to make the cookies stay forever and set true to false so that if people dont click exit chat when leaving your room they will be logge dout when leaving your room...
