hi,
i have briefly examined your CMS and it seems to be cool. but i have notices some glitches.
1. there are lots of german words in the english translation.
2. 3 dbs requirement is _very_ high wrt small developers mostly having to work with only 1 db. imo, it's not that hard to add two other dbs into main db as tables.
3. documentation is lacking. a small doc explaining the general things and concepts is sufficient. as i have seen it has somehow different concept from other CMSs.
4. about the group concept it should be flexible, imho. when adding a new group it only adds the name etc. but not permission of that group. we should give permissions (read/write/edit/delete) on the folders/obejcts/plug-ins from the "add group" screen.
and i have a question: i have client needing a international import/export trade site like simple/basic version of alibaba.com. it has members (and members has different user data fileds) and those members have their own site under the main site. on the private sites members show their products, services etc. and visitors contact them from the application without showing email address. members can add/edit/remove their web pages.
how is this possible with this CMS?
thanks in advance

1. The problem is, that we, the developers, speak german in switzerland, so we have mixed all kinds of languages in the stage of development. It's time to change this conditions and write english code.
2. PHPope is designed for professional solutions. It's not just a nuke, install and run. We have split the data in 3 logic databases. All systemdata, for the whole configuration, all content (What you see on the page) and all temporary content for the workflow. I think that's the right choice.
3. That's a big problem. We had no time for a well documentation, because we don't live with air and love. We need phpope for our clients and that's a lot of work.
We are happy about any help in this part.
4. Our group option is, that you give permission of a group for each template and/or plugin.
I would forward your question.
Thanks for your suggestions.

hi,
thanks for your reply.
imho, 3 dbs is good, but professionalism is not related with more dbs more professional. you can design such a db that does not require 3 dbs. 3 dbs _may_ mean 3 times more db access. 3 dbs make maintanance jobs are 3 times...
of course, i'm not counting nukes, but please look at ezpublish on ez.no , xaraya on xaraya.com i'm not sure but typo3 also run on 1 db. if these are not professional i will give up this discussion :)
i have 3 more questions:
1. on the home page it says "hi,
thanks for your reply.

i have 3 more questions:
1. on the home page it says non-commercial outputs: 2 and registered plugins: 45. where can i look at these?
2. do you have plans to change permission logic. i think it's a lot less flexible than what i suggested.
3. can you please answer my last question in the first post starting with "and i have a question".
thanks

That with the 3 DBs is to explain with a better overview and you can exchange the data between multiple sites using the same db's. Yes it's possible to make one DB but for us it's better with 3 and phpope is designed for bigger projects, i.e: http://www.gameplex.ch or http://www.egokiefer.ch which will updated.
Non-commercial outputs are phpope.org and gameplex.ch.
You can finde the most of th 45 plugins in the download version. Some are in preperation and will comming soon.
Now we are still in a beta version and a lot of changes are possible.
