Problmes D'Installation.... Aide svp. Les anglais d'I seulement speak/write... J'emploie Babelfish pour traduire ceci. J'ai tlcharg la dernire version 4,0,2 et les anglais "s'ajoutent sur". Aucune ide n'est donne o les dossiers anglais non comprims doivent tre placs. Plac leur o j'a pens qu'ils devraient tre... n'a pas travaill. Essay dans environ 6 l'autre endroit que je ne les ai pas penss travaillerait... et ils n'ont pas travaill. J'ai essay d'installer en utilisant le franais... un groupe de messages d'erreur qui ne traduiraient pas. Je suis confus... totalement. Et je dois tre plus d'un idiot qu'I pens parce que chacun semble autrement n'avoir aucun problme; -) Est-ce qu'ainsi... n'importe qui peut aider un vieil homme fatigu comprendre ce qu'il fait mal?? I only speak/write English ... I am using Babelfish to translate this.
I downloaded latest version 4.0.2 & the English "add on". No idea is given where the uncompressed English files are to be placed. Placed them where I thought they should be ... did not work. Tried in about 6 other place I didn't think they would work ... and they didn't work. I tried installing using the French ... a bunch of error messages that would not translate.
I am confused ... totally. And I must be more of an idiot than I thought because everyone else seems to have no problems ;-)
So ... can anyone help a tired old man understand what he's doing wrong??

Well, you can untargz;) the english package in the folder called "lang" and add the specific line in the file "".
The specifc line is :
en;English

It is very simple to install a new language:
- Upload it to the sub-folder /lang/ in your website's folder for your copy of the PHPMyRing
program, where for example you will find the file 'fr.php';
- Edit the file 'langs' with any text editor, and then add a line corresponding to the
language you have just installed in this manner:
fr;franais
-- !!ATTENTION!! Do not add a new virgin line to the file langs --

REMARKS
- The version of the language corresponds to the version of PHPMyRing for which the complete
translation has been assured.
- You can update PHPMyRing without updating the language being used, but there will be holes in
the text...

Thank you Sir ... the information you provided in your post helped me determine what changes I had to make. I then installed again ... without ANY problems ;) I looked again in the documents with the downloads and I could not find any mention of the instructions you gave here.
I am going to have to make some changes in some of the PHP files When a person wishes to Join ... they put in their name but the space below has no designation ... so I will have to go in and add that description to the box.
I will also have to find the "Comments" are for member sites ... the pop up screen was only in French. But I think you mentioned in the documentation that that might happen ;-)

J'alors n'ai install encore... sans AUCUN problme;) J'ai regard encore dans les documents avec les tlchargements et je ne pourrais trouver aucune mention des instructions que vous avez donnes ici. Je vais devoir faire quelques changements de certains des dossiers de PHP quand une personne souhaite les joindre... a mis dans leur nom mais l'espace ci-dessous n'a aucune dsignation... ainsi je devrai entrer et ajouter cette description la bote. Je devrai galement trouver les "commentaires" suis pour le membre situe... le bruit vers le haut de l'cran tais seulement en franais. Mais je vous pense ai mentionn dans la documentation que cela pourrait se produire; -) Merci encore de votre aide Peter
