version 2.1.0-alpha-1 released

Announcing the release of phpmyfamily version 2.1.0-alpha-1

To install just extract the zip over your existing installation - you can also remove old dojo directories

This is the first (announced) release in a while and there are some hopefully interesting new features.

It's an alpha release for a couple of reasons (although I'm not aware of any significant problems)

  • there are some technical upgrades that should work but haven't been tested on a wide variety of installations
  • some of the new features are more complex to install and I'm looking for feedback
  • it could still do with a little cosmetic work, including on some of the wording on the new pages... read more

phpmyfamily 2.0.0 released

This is a major release with significant changes to the program and database structure aimed at providing a solid, flexible foundation on which to build in future.

While there are no known bugs it would be a pleasant surprise if none were found and I fully expect there to be further fix releases in the 2.0 version - if nothing else there are a large number of new translation strings required.

Note that after upgrading most of the configuration is stored in the database and can be accessed from the preferences / admin page (/admin.php)... read more

phpmyfamily version 1.4.2 has been released today. This is an interim security bugfix release and can be downloaded from

Please note that the 2 security fixes are very minor and in many cases are automatically stopped by modern versions of PHP (depending upon configuration). I have also released upgrade files 1.4.1-1.4.2 with only the changed files in them.... read more

phpmyfamily 1.3.1 released

I am pleased to announce the release of phpmyfamily 1.3.1. This is a security release following the discovery of a bug which allowed a user to gain edit capability when the application was running on a server with the php ini setting of "register_globals = On"

If your installation runs on a server with "register_globals = Off" then there is no necessity to upgrade.
