I am using phpmychat on chrome.
The problem is, when the chat loads new messages (it upadet at every 20 seconds or so) it flashes white. Also the online users list flashes.
It is pretty huge strain to some peoples eyes. Is there any solution to this flashing problem? On mozilla browser chat is smooth and beautiful.

Hi,
I am sorry, but Chrome (and all the other modern browsers) changed standards so fast, that it have been hard to keep up. I suggest you better use this chat with IE, Opera or FF. Even Safari I think it's ok. But in Chrome, cache is handled differently, so refreshing was the best option.
It is still on my to do list, for when I will have time to look deeper into it...
Thanks.

Thank you very much! :)
Hopefully there will be solution for chromes problem some day.
FF is the best browser anyway. :D
You're welcome.
The other post is in the Closed section, please read my answer there (chat colours).

Thank you, again. I wondered where did it disappear. :)
Is it ok if I ask more about colors here?
So there was that sliding color palette where you were able to put direct HEX codes from config file. Could the dropdown with limited number of available colorsbe replaced with the old phpmychat style color palette with more possibilities to update colors into it?
If it is possible, what should I do if I want that kind of color picker only in chat text colors? Profile colors would just have the dropdown list.
Hmmm, very hard to remember. It was replaced 10 years ago... However, not easy to revert I suppose, as the existing one is hardly coded. I need to have a look but I don't have time so soon.
It would be easier for you to get notified of replies (if I will find a solution) if you wouldn't post anonymous...
If you could be able to do that it would be awesome.
I have about 100 users using my chat and most of them are highly active, visiting there daily basis and hanging online for hours. Usually there is 20, sometimes 30 people online at once. Those online people change when some go out and new come in. Everyone of those active users has their own text colors (also those which are offline at that moment) and we're running out of those colors which people consider as "good ones", heh. That's pretty much why I need to add my own colors (or colors which users wish for). :)
I made profile here now anyways. :)
Great feedback! For such an active comunity, I will look into it for you asap. Can I have a link to visit your chat? ;)
Ok Will, I just checked and the list was there in the config.lib.php, ready to be customized to your needs!
However, to make it easier, I also added the standard list of colours from the old chat.
Put this config.lib.php in your config folder (don't forget to put in the database info from your old config.lib header). Then search for COLORLIST (2nd occurence) and play with that list. After each update of the file you need to reload the entire chat window (or exit and re-login).
Let me know if this is what you were looking for.
PS: the other 2 files need to be uploaded in the chat root folder, overiding the existing ones.
PS: I updated the zip too.
