I'm new to phpMyChat, and I'd like to know how to cahnge the colrs from that purple to something else as well as that chat text window. What files do i edit and where?

Go to the config file and you can edit the admin.css and style.css files there. Remember to backup the originals first. Then just change a little at a time until you see what the effects are. I am a rank amateur, but I managed to make some changes and the chatroom still works and looks great! Good Luck. :)
