Hi all,
I recently merged our site's phpmychat database with our longstanding phpBB database. It seemed to work perfectly, until I found out that most people who have created a username after an uncertain point do not seem to be able to access the chat room. When they try to enter, they are met with a message telling them they must register! Oddly, not every new account is subject to this error, and not every old account gets past it. I can't figure out a rhyme or reason behind which names get through and which don't. Has anyone encountered a problem similar to this, and if so, any advice on how to fix it?
On a related note, the fact that our phpBB database allows usernames with multiple words means that now we have people chatting with names like "Firstname Lastname" in the chat room. It works alright, except you can't use any commands with their name in it, like "/to Firstname Lastname", because it just tries to send a message to "Firstname". Has anyone else tried merging their databases with phpBB and discovered a fix for this?
