I believe that this is by design.

However, I will look into adding an option to the
application configuration file to display event
descriptions next to the event title on the "reduced"
calendar screen.

I'll also look into seeing if there is any way to add
the event descriptions to the expanded calendar mode
without cluttering it up too much.

I'm assuming that you were using the reduced calendar
mode since you mention clicking on a day.
