I am using MySQL 5.0, PHP5, IIS server on XP Pro. I have no problem creating database using phpmyadmin, but have problem creating a table. I did put a number in the text box of number of fields and click on 'GO'. But it says my number of fields textbox is empty. I really do not know why it says its empty. However, i can create table using MySQL Client. SO, it seems that phpmyadmin has some errors. In addition, i tried putting SQL create table query into phpmyadmin, but it did not work as well. The error is as follows:

import.php: Missing parameter: import_type (FAQ 2.8)
import.php: Missing parameter: format (FAQ 2.8)

    Which browser?

    Please try 2.10.2 or even better, the latest snapshot of QA_2_10 available on http://www.phpmyadmin.net/snapshot

    Sounds like missing proper permissions for php to write to certain folders like upload_tmp_dir and/or session.save_path. Using IIS as webserver you also need an user named "IUSR" with r/w/modify rights granted on those folders.

    I tried downloading the latest phpmyadmin 2.11. I put int in my wwwroot folder. when i open the index page of phpmyadmin in localhost, here is the error:

    Cannot start session without errors, please check errors given in your PHP and/or webserver log file and configure your PHP installation properly.

    But i am very sure tt my PHP has no problems.

    You have no problems working with another application that uses sessions on this web server?

    I think is have problems with sessions now. I have captured user input into a session on the page and managed to print out the session value on the page. But after redirecting using header(), the session on the redirected page is empty when i tried to print it out.

    So I don't think this is a problem with phpMyAdmin; most likely a problem with the session subsystem in your PHP. Try the suggestions from windkiel.

    php itself can give you a clue where to look:
    ____
    <?php
    ini_set('display_errors', 'Off');
    session_start();
    ini_set('display_errors', 'On');
    error_reporting(6143); //everything
    ?>
    <h2>IF you get any WARNINGS sessions are NOT ok :</h2>
    ____

    (save this as sesstest.php or some such)
