It would be useful, during the transition time from
older MySQL versions to the most recent, that
phpMyAdmin would have a batch change feature for the
collations of each column in a table. In a large tables
with tens of text fields, it would be easy to just
check a checkbox "Change all column collations" when
changing the default collation for the whole table.
