Hi,
the world gets more mobile everyday, so I think it would be a good idea to make phpMyAdmin responsive, so it's optimized for smartphones and tablets too - instead of desktop only.
Sometimes I have to wait to edit something in te database, only because i'm not in reach of a desktop PC.
The last team's discussion about it:
https://wiki.phpmyadmin.net/pma/2014-02_Meeting#Mobile_version:_follow-up
I hadn't seen that yet, thanks for the info.
Hi Marc,
I saw the Team's discussion there, and I know you don't have plans. But I'd like to say that a "light-weight", "responsive", "mobile site/app" is definitely required. First of all, the phpmyadmin is quite heavy to load and it's not responsive. So every time I need some changes in DB, or look to some data, I have to get a laptop on the go.
I'd like to propose that I can do this with a little mentorship in say GSOC or afterwards. Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks.
Kushagra,
on https://wiki.phpmyadmin.net/pma/GSoC_2015_Ideas_List there is an item "Your idea" so you can definitely use this idea in a proposal, although I have doubts about being doable in 13 weeks.
Yes Marc, I too doubt about completing that in 13 weeks, but at least I can start that, and follow even after the GSOC, and hopefully, more people can join to work on this. If that sounds fine to you, then I'll definitely propose this in my GSOC application. Thanks.
The mentoring team will rank proposals, so I really cannot tell you more than what I wrote above.
