Why not just set a button there says "Toggle text" so user can hide or show the text by clicking the button?

 The Designer menu needs improvements. It should obey the $cfg['TabsMode'] setting (by default, show both text and icons). Also, items should be regrouped and a menu level should be added. For example, icons less often used (like angular links, snap to grid, etc) could be regrouped under Options.
