here is my suggestion. IMO everything else that was in this FAQ entry is either outdated or does not belong to this FAQ entry, due to the code taking care of issuing the proper warnings.

1.17 Which database versions does phpMyAdmin support?
For MySQL, versions 5.5 and newer are supported. For older MySQL versions, our Downloads page offers older phpMyAdmin versions (which may have become unsupported).
For MariaDB, versions 5.5 and newer are supported.
For Drizzle, versions 7.1 and newer are supported.
