[Phplinks-support] a problem i encountered
From: michaelwynn <mic...@ti...> - 2004-10-26 17:05:47
Hello everyone.=20
I am a complete amateur, but i have somehow managed to set up a site =
with this script. While cretaing a database, I encountederd a problem. I =
wanted to add the three terms, natural history, history and literary =
history, and then conduct a search for history. I found that even if i =
placed "natural history" in quatation marks, it still came up higher =
than another site with the description history. My question is this. Is =
there a way of making the search option better without having to drop =
the term natural history.=20

My suggestion is that you somehow make a phrase frunction in the =
description box by allowing things listed in quotation marks to be =
counted as one word and thus not show up or show up lower on a search =
for history.

Hope this wasn't too complicated. Can anyone help me with this?

Best regards
Mike
[Phplinks-support] FASD project: Online survey launched
From: <ben...@id...> - 2004-05-25 09:45:40
Dear Open Source developer

I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate.
You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it.

With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development.

With many thanks for your participation,
Benno Luthiger

PS:
The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/.
We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list.

[Phplinks-support] EDITING THE TEXTUAL FILE
From: CLIFFORD H. <ra...@ya...> - 2003-09-24 12:13:00
Hi, what is the name of the actual file in php links taht contains the
test info people enter? I think that would be the fastest way to add
links to my php links right? Edit that file, then upload it to the
server?

[Phplinks-support] Error: Warning: Cannot send session cookie - headers already
From: Denis L. - Fi S. <Den...@fi...> - 2003-04-26 13:16:24
Hi,

During the install I had the following error:

Warning: Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output
started at
/data/www/o/p/enware.ouvaton.org/html/phplinks/include/session.php:77)
in /data/www/o/p/enware.ouvaton.org/html/phplinks/admin/index.php on
line 12

Before this message I had to configure the dbhost, dbuser and dbname
variables due to my hosting provider configuration..

And in the initial php scripts (from the .zip from sourceforge) the
MySQL field Names were PHPlinks_nameofthefiels, and they did not match
the fields created with NewPHPLinks.sql.

Any clue?

Denis
