[Phplib-users] Problems with Authentication in Mozilla & Firefox

Hi,

since Mozilla 1.6 and also in Firefox 0.8 I cannot authenticate anymore
(at least not without problems).

I am using session4.inc, which requires cookies. For some reason the
cookies won't be set properly by phplib.

phpmyadmin e.g. works fine, but phplib doesn't...

The funny thing is: if I copy the files cookies.txt and cookperm.txt from
the old Mozilla 1.5 into 1.6 (works also for Firefox), which don't exist
right after freshly installing the program or creating a new user profile,
everything works fine again!

I use the latest snapshot from sourceforge.

Did somebody meet the same behaviour? And does know the reason why?

I use Firefox 0.8 (on Red Hat Linux) and I've never had a problem with
cookie-based sessions in PHPLIB.

What if you first accept a cookie from another site (so that cookies.txt
and cookperm.txt will be created) and then go to your PHPLib site?

My Firefox is on Windows 2k and the app is on SuSE 8.2 linux.

cookperm.txt turned out to be not necessary, but cookies.txt is!
I tried that with phpmyadmin. That worked, as I mentioned before.
Afterwards I surfed to my app: and the same: it did not...

still helpless....

The browser doesn't even ask me (though I set this as default behaviour)
whether he should really set the cookie! Simply ignores the cookie
request...

yes, I asked the browser to ask whether I want to allow cookies. In fact
it doesn't ask. Somehow phplib doesn't issue the cookie...

ID doesn't appear in url on purpose! I wanted to have only cookies
allowed.

Hmmm...

I verified that the entry in cookies.txt is sufficient. If this line gets
deleted from the file the cookie wouldn't be saved anymore. the
cookperm.txt is not necessary.

I am a little helpless... Strange behaviour.

I am using the windows version of the browser. The app itself is hosted on
a linux server.
